8 Dec - Aishwarya Rai wants you to know that she is not interested in having the most likes and followers, as she recently revealed in an interview at the Red Sea Film Festival.

The actress, who only has Instagram as her social media account and posting sparsely throughout the years, stated that insecurity has never been the driving force for her, be it online or offline.

"So evidently, to those who have visited my one and only social media engagement platform, it's almost been quite shy-like and basic... I'm quite a quiet rebel there," she said.

The Miss World 1994 stated that she would rather not follow what is expected of her as a celebrity.

"I kind of wanted to set an example, but make a statement of telling people to liberate yourself from fooling yourself into believing that this is what you need to feel validated," she added.

In the same interview, she also stated that she doesn't believe in the term "comeback," which was used when she starred in Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan" after many years of hiatus, especially when it comes to her acting career.

"At the end of the day, once an artiste, always an artiste. This is the way I view our craft and how I view our industry and audiences always validate that perspective," she added.
