25 Nov - It was revealed that Ajith Kumar has recently been honoured with the Philippe Charriol Award for Gentleman Driver of the Year.

The actor-turned-racer accepted the award from Stephane Ratel of SRO Motorsports Group Awards at a special ceremony held at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Italy.

Sharing the good news on social media was wife Shalini, who posted a couple of photos from the event via Instagram, and wrote, "Honoured to stand beside my husband in Venice, as he is being awarded "Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025" in honour of entrepreneur and racing driver, the late Philippe Charriol."

In his speech, the actor expressed, "I'd like to take this moment to remember Mr Philippe Charriol. I've heard so many nice things about Mr Charriol; that he was very kind and a wonderful person. I heard that he inspired all those he came across in his life. My experience in the Motorsport world has been exciting, challenging, and a pleasure."

Ajith and his Ajith Kumar Racing Team have been doing very well in motorsports, having competed internationally for the past year.

The actor was awarded for displaying both "passion and sportsmanship during his debut season in the GT4 European Series" powered by RAFA Racing Club whilst promoting the championship to his millions of followers.
