5 May - Alia Bhatt is following the footsteps of Aishwarya Rai, as she announced recently that she is making her Cannes debut.

Sharing the good news in a statement to the media, the actress revealed that she will be making her red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival from 13 to 24 May as the global ambassador for beauty brand L'Oreal Paris alongside Aishwarya.


"There's something absolutely special about firsts, and I am so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression," she expressed. "It is such an honour to represent L'Oreal Paris at the festival with this year's theme; Lights, Beauty and Action."

Saying that beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence and self-worth, the actress added that she is proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman's journey and empowers them to shine in their own light.

Other big names who will be a part of the L'Oreal Paris red carpet event include Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, Simone Ashley and Yseult.
