19 Feb - The first look photo of Matt Damon in the upcoming Christopher Nolan movie has recently been unveiled.

On 18 February, the official X account for the movie "Odyssey" shared the first look photo of Matt Damon in the highly anticipated film. The image shows Damon in Trojan battle armour as he takes on the role of Odysseus. The film is set for theatrical release on 17 July 2026.

This adaptation of Homer's 8th century BCE epic poem follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, on his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. The story chronicles the hero's encounters with mythical beings including Polyphemus the Cyclops, Sirens, the nymph Calypso, and the witch goddess Circe, as he attempts to return to his wife Penelope.

The project marks Nolan's first directorial venture since "Oppenheimer," for which he recently won an Oscar.

Damon, who previously worked with Nolan in "Oppenheimer" as Gen. Leslie Groves, leads an impressive ensemble cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, and Mia Goth.

The project was first announced just before Christmas 2024, adding to the growing anticipation for Nolan's next epic undertaking.
