23 May - "Isn't that crazy? Legendary franchise," said Conan O'Brien recently, who cannot help but be smug that he will be a part of "Toy Story 5".

Sharing the good news on his Instagram account earlier this week, the comedian and TV personality joked about supposedly asking to voice Woody and Buzz Lightyear before being turned down due to the fact that the two characters are already being voiced by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

"But anyway, then they showed me this new character, Smarty Pants. It's the best character of them all. I far prefer this character. I don't even want to play Woody or Buzz anymore, even if they beg me. I'm Smarty Pants; I love this!" he said.

The last "Toy Story" film was released in 2019
No details have been given regarding the character Smarty Pants, but the upcoming fifth instalment will have Woody and the gang facing a new challenge in the shape of electronics.

The movie will be helmed by Andrew Stanton of "Finding Nemo" and "WALL-E" fame.

Others newcomers include Ernie Hudson, who takes over the late Carl Weathers's role of action figure Combat Carl and Anna Faris in an undisclosed part. Joan Cusack will return as cowgirl Jessie.
