13 May - A documentary detailing the struggles of making the first "John Wick" movie has recently been released.

The documentary, titled "Wick is Pain", had director Jeffrey Doe tracking lead actor Keanu Reeves and filmmaker Chad Stahelski for a decade as they went from making an indie film into it becoming one of the most successful action franchises of the 21st century.

Speaking to the media at the special screening of the documentary in Santa Monica earlier, Reeves said that he would always be ready to do more for the franchise because "Wick is pain and we f****** love it."

"When we get into the level of choreography and stuff, everyone's been used to being thrown by me. If I do 100 throws, there's f***** six guys who are getting f****** thrown and doing it. So, I'm not in that alone, and then just the cinema part of it is that all of the operators are in it with us to capture everything," he said.

To be released on multiple on-demand platforms including Apple TV and Amazon, "Wick is Pain" showcases the franchise's tight-knit community and familial atmosphere as well as the hardship of making the films.

"There's really not a job we've ever been on that hasn't had some kind of confrontational element, but that doesn't make it bad," said Stahelski. "And that's the whole thing with 'Wick Is Pain', it's the pain we choose. Like, yeah, it's going to be tough, but the tough is what makes it great."
