28 Apr - Despite previous rumours saying that Charli XCX might be playing the coveted role, it was recently reported that Emma Mackey has been cast to play the White Witch in the upcoming Netflix Narnia adaptation.

The project, which is helmed by director Greta Gerwig, will have the British-French actress reuniting with the filmmaker after playing Physicist Barbie in the 2023 film, "Barbie".

Jadis aka the White Witch is the main antagonist in CS Lewis' "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" (1950) and "The Magician's Nephew" (1955). The character is described as a "extraordinarily beautiful, tall, and imposing" sorceress and cunning strategist.
