31 Oct - DreamWorks Animation is turning to the Filipinos for their upcoming movie, "Forgotten Island".

It was reported that the studio has cast American singer H.E.R as well as Filipina actress Liza Soberano to lead the team of voice actors for the movie, which revolves around an island rooted in Philippine mythology. Though H.E.R was born and raised in California, her mum is from the Philippines.

According to THR, in the movie, the two stars play best friends Jo and Raissa, who find themselves stuck on the magical and forgotten island of Nakali and that the only way home will potentially require the loss of their cherished memories together.

Aside from H.E.R and Soberano, the movie has also cast Filipino stars Lea Salonga and Manny Jacinto, as well as Dave Franco and Jenny Slate.

Penned and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, the movie will be released on 25 September 2026.
