"Godzilla Minus One" had a tremendous success at the box office in 2023, after earning more than USD 113 million at the box office while being made under the budget of USD 15 million.

It also became the first Godzilla movie in history to win an Academy Award after bagging home an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, besting other contenders that include "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning part One" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3".

Set in postwar Japan, the previous film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki as a former kamikaze pilot suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after encountering a giant monster known as "Godzilla".
