13 May - The upcoming "Godzilla x Kong" movie has now found its title.

It is now officially called "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova" and will be released theatrically on 26 March 2027.

A teaser video has also been released to mark the start of production on the sixth film of the Monsterverse franchise that started with 2014's "Godzilla" directed by Gareth Edwards. Principal photography has started in April 2025 at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

The upcoming film, helmed by Grant Sputore, stars Kaitlyn Dever, Dan Stevens, Jack O'Connell and Delroy Lindo among others, is marketed as a sequel to the 2024 film, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire".

2024's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" made USD 572.3 million at the box office.
