13 Jun- James Gunn recently confirmed that DC Studios is working on its own version of Wonder Woman.

The DC co-head, who is currently promoting "Superman", stated that the female superhero movie is "being written right now", while also revealing that the HBO series "Paradise Island" about the Amazons of Themyscira is slowly moving.

However, it doesn't look like Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman, as Gunn said that he has yet to cast anybody in the role.

The filmmaker also stated that Superman would be crucial to the longevity of the franchise, as are Supergirl, Batman and Wonder Woman.

"I wouldn't say only those four characters, but I would say that those four characters are incredibly important to us. Right now, I feel great about where two of those characters are, and then we're dealing with the other two," he added.

As for now, "Superman" will be released on 11 July, while "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" starring Milly Alcock, will be in cinemas in June 2026.
