28 Apr - Jesse Plemons has recently been announced as a new cast member to join the upcoming Lionsgate adaptation of "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping".

The actor will be playing the younger version of Plutarch Heavensbee, who is the head Gamemaker and rebellion leader in the original trilogy. In the Suzanne Collins prequel book, Heavensbee is first introduced as a cameraman who recorded the reaping in District 12.

The older version was played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

"Jesse is one of the most talented actors of his generation, with a proven record of picking his roles selectively," said Erin Westerman, co-president, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. "We are honoured that he has chosen to bring his own take to one of the most fascinating figures in Panem, and feel that his previous collaboration with Philip Seymour Hoffman makes it all the more special."

"His Plutarch will be both a tribute to the character fans have already come to know and a portrayal he makes his own. We can't wait for audiences to see it."

Plemons was recently seen in Netflix series' "Zero Day" alongside Robert de Niro. He was also nominated for an Academy Award multiple times, including for the movie, "Killers of the Flower Moon".
