27 Oct - After keeping away from big studios for the past few years, Johnny Depp is back with his biggest movie project to-date post-Amber Heard.

It was reported that the actor is now in final negotiations to be a part of the new adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", which will be helmed by horror filmmaker Ti West, known for movies like "Pearl" and "MaXXXine".

Titled, "Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol", the movie was described as "a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens' London, following one man's supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance."

The movie will also star Andrea Riseborough ("Mandy", "To Leslie").

It is noted that Depp had been focusing more on filming movies outside of the US ever since winning his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

When asked about it in 2023, he said, "I don't think about Hollywood. I don't feel much further need for Hollywood - I don't know about you."
