"DDLJ" Turns 30
21 Oct - Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol recently celebrated the anniversary of their hit film, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge".

On 20 October, as the film turns 30, the actress shared a special poster which read, "The Longest Running Film in the History of Indian Cinema" and wrote, "DDLJ completes 30 years today in time but the way it has spread around the world and through everybody's hearts and minds simply cannot be counted."

"Thank you all for loving it in this phenomenal way!" she added.

Meanwhile, in a recent Variety interview, Shah Rukh shared that he is truly grateful for all the love he has received from people around the world for his character Raj.

"So many couples meet me and say we got married or fell in love after watching this film. I also feel that it has had such a happy effect on the pop culture of India and South Asians," he said.

He also credited the success to the pure hearts with which the film was made by them, the clarity that director Aditya Chopra had about 'DDLJ' and especially because of the blessings of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, Aditya's father and founder of Yash Raj Films.

First released in 1995, the movie stars the two actors as Raj and Simran, two young non-resident Indians, who fall in love during a vacation through Europe with their friends, but face roadblock when Simran's father was revealed to have promised her hand to his friend's son.
The movie was shot in India, London and Switzerland
