18 Feb - Karan Johar recently admitted that he wouldn't have been where he is as a filmmaker without Shah Rukh Khan.

The director and producer, who sat down on Komal Nahta's podcast, "Game Changer" recently, admitted that all his successes came from the fact that Shah Rukh Khan agreed to star in his films and that the actor was "the chance" to which he "danced".

"This [chain] started with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, then it reached Dil To Pagal Hai, then Kuch Kuch Hota Hai came, then Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, then Kal Ho Naa Ho, Devdas... these films are the pillars of overseas success," he said.

Karan continued, "If you go overseas, it's not just limited to the UK, USA, Australia. If you go anywhere in Europe, France, Germany, Egypt... for them, the film means Shah Rukh Khan. He is not just a star; he is an emotion."

Aside from SRK, the filmmaker also credited Yash Raj Films Chairman Aditya Chopra for shaping his career.

Karan is currently producing "Dhadak 2" under his company, Dharma Productions, while SRK is currently prepping up for his next action-thriller, "King".
