3 Jun - Despite having a decent start, the Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio-starrer, "Karate Kid: Legends" was unable to dethrone "Lilo & Stitch" at the US box office.

The film, which opened on 30 May, made USD 21 million at the US box office, slightly behind the target goal of USD 25 million for its three-day opening.

It made third place in the top 10 charts, with "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" earning the second spot with USD 122.6 million in the US and USD 353.8 million globally.

Meanwhile, "Lilo & Stitch" has now made USD 610 million globally in its second week.

However, despite the slow three-day opening, it is noted that "Karate Kids: Legends", which has Ben Wang playing the lead, is still doing well seeing that it was made with a budget of USD 45 million.

"Lilo & Stitch" is still at number one
