A "Knight Rider" comeback is nostalgia indeed
28 Aug - It looks like KITT the AI car is getting a modern remake, as Universal is currently working on developing a movie version of the '80s TV hit series, "Knight Rider" that starred David Hasselhoff.

Universal reportedly are in talks with Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, the creators behind Netflix's "Cobra Kai" to bring to life yet again the franchise, which previously starred David Hasselhoff.

It is noted that the trio has already shown a great ability to present a fresh take on an old IP, with "Cobra Kai" serving as a sequel to the classic "Karate Kids" movies.

They are also working on helming a new "Harold and Kumar" film and tackled a spinoff of 1980s classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" for Paramount.

The original NBC crime drama, which aired from 1982 to 1986, stars David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a sleek and modern crime fighter assisted by KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), an advanced, artificially intelligent, self-aware, and nearly indestructible car.

"Cobra Kai" concluded in February this year
