11 Nov - It appears there could be more than one "Michael" biopic about Michael Jackson, as Lionsgate seems keen on expanding the franchise.

In a comment made by the studio's chairman Adam Fogelson, the executive stated that while they are not ready to confirm plans for a second film, the creative team is "hard at work making sure that we're in a position to deliver more Michael soon after we release the first film."

Prior to Fogelson's statement, it was reported that the film's third act required reshoots after the team overlooked a clause in a past settlement made with one of Jackson's accusers that prohibited them from being dramatised in a movie.

The movie recently unveiled its first official teaser trailer, which features Jermaine Jackson's son Jaafar playing Michael in the biopic.

Fogelson said the early response to the "Michael" teaser has been positive. "I think people are stunned with Jaafar's performance, even in the short amount that is in this relatively brief teaser," he added.

The Antoine Fuqua movie will be released in April next year. Check out the trailer HERE:
