5 Nov - Namewee recently announced that he has surrendered himself to the police early this morning, amid reports saying that he has gone missing.

In the wee morning of 5 November, the singer-songwriter posted a statement on social media, writing, "I have just arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru. I had an appointment with the police earlier to report to the police station and file a report. I have now arrived at the police station, and I will fully assist the police in their investigation to provide an explanation to the public and the family of the deceased."

"I will not flee. I voluntarily reported to the police on all seven previous occasions when a warrant was issued, and I have never fled," he added.

At around 1.10 a.m. today, Namewee, real name Wee Meng Chee arrived at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters accompanied by three men and two women, traveling in three separate cars. Wearing a cap and dressed casually, he appeared relaxed and even took a selfie outside the police station.

The statement came after the police stated that they had been unable to locate him, after they reclassified Iris Hsieh's death as murder.
