19 May - Years after playing Voldemort, Ralph Fiennes is back to playing a YA villain, this time as President Snow in "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping".

The actor will be joining the already announced cast that include Joseph Zada and Whitney Peak in the lead, as well as Mckenna Grace, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, Ben Wang and Jesse Plemons - the latter to play the younger version of Plutarch Heavensbee.

The original President Coriolanus Snow was played by the late Donald Sutherland, who portrayed the character in four of the "Hunger Games" films. The younger version of Snow was played by Tom Blyth in the 2023 prequel, "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes".

Said producer Nina Jacobson, "We wanted to honor Donald Sutherland by having one of this generation's greatest actors play President Snow 24 years before Katniss Everdeen entered the arena. Working with Ralph has been on my bucket list since he traumatised me for life in Schindler's List. It's genuinely a thrill to welcome him to the Hunger Games."

"Sunrise on the Reaping" is the second prequel by Suzanne Collins, which takes place 24 years prior to the events of the original Hunger Games.
