Fresh off his success in "The Fall Guy," the actor is in final negotiations to lead Shawn Levy's standalone Star Wars feature, marking a bold departure from the franchise's traditional casting playbook.

While Star Wars historically catapulted unknowns like Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley to stardom, Gosling's casting would introduce established A-list talent to the galaxy far, far away.
