17 Jan - In a shocking incident that occurred in the early morning hours of 16 January, actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked during a failed burglary attempt at his residence in the western Mumbai suburb of Bandra. The actor sustained multiple stab wounds but is now reported to be out of danger following emergency surgery.

According to neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, Saif suffered a major injury to his thoracic spine where a knife had become lodged. "A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. Additionally, two deep wounds on his left hand and the right side of his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team," Dr. Dange explained.


The surgery at Lilavati Hospital has been confirmed successful by hospital representatives, and Saif has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) before an eventual move to a regular ward. Reports indicate that the actor was stabbed six times during the attempted burglary. A female staff member was also injured in the attack but has since been discharged from the hospital.

Family members have been seen visiting the hospital throughout the day. Saif's wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, who was safely at home with their two sons during the incident, has been making regular visits.

His children from his previous marriage, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, were also spotted at the hospital, along with his sister Soha Ali Khan and brother-in-law Kunal Kemmu.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, as the attacker managed to flee the scene.

In a statement released to the media, Kareena has requested privacy for the family during this challenging time and urged the public to refrain from speculation about the incident.

The attack on one of Bollywood's most prominent actors has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with celebrities and fans expressing their concern and sending well wishes for his swift recovery.
