6 May - Saif Ali Khan recently clarified his previous story about apologising to son Taimur for making him watch his movie, "Adipurush", saying that it was actually him saying sorry for playing a villain.

The actor shared this titbit with "Jewel Thief" co-star Jaideep Ahlawat in a recent conversation, after netizens mistook his previous statement on Netflix India's YouTube channel that he said sorry to his 8-year-old son with Kareena Kapoor for making him watch the movie.

"I apologised to Tim for being the evil villain in the film. I was growling and smashing everyone in sight! He said next time you should play the hero. I stand by all my films, and this one too," he said.

In the previous interview, Saif said that Taimur gave him a "side-eye" after watching him play the character the rakshasa king of Lanka, Lankesh in the 2023 Indian mythological action film, and explained, "My son and I were watching the film recently, and I understood that it was bad. My son gave me a look as if to ask why he was being made to watch it, and I understood the situation. I quickly apologised to him."

The film became one of the most expensive Indian films with its USD 83 million budget, but bombed at the box office by making approximately only USD 45.7 million.
