17 Jul - Two years after Sony announced the big screen adaptation of Nintendo's hit game, "The Legend of Zelda", Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto finally announced that they have found the right actors to play the two important roles in the movie.

Sharing the news on X on 16 July, the video game designer turned film producer wrote, "I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san."

Adding that he is looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen, Miyamoto added, "The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on May 7, 2027. Thank you for your patience."

The upcoming adaptation will be helmed by Wes Ball of "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" fame.

The video game series, created by Miyamoto and fellow designer Takashi Tezuka in 1986, centres on Link, a courageous elf-like Hylian youth, and Princess Zelda, a princess within the bloodline of the goddess Hylia, as they fight to save the land of Hyrule from Ganon, an evil warlord turned demon king.
