The
The "Tron" reboot fails to soar
14 Oct - It looks like Disney's strings of successes have been cut off, as the reboot, "Tron: Ares" has done poorly in its three-day opening at the box office.

The film, which stars Jared Leto in the lead and helmed by Joachim Rønning, was behind expectation with a US opening of USD 33.5 million, despite the expectation of around USD 40 to 45 million.

Overseas, the movie managed to only accumulate USD 27 million, bringing a global total of USD 60.5 million.

It is noted that the film came 15 years after the first sequel, "Tron: Legacy". The new film carried a massive budget of USD 180 million sans marketing.

The 2010 film, "Tron: Legacy", helmed by Joseph Kosinski, made USD 409.9 million at the box office.

"Tron Legacy" was released back in 2010
