13 May - 25 years since the release of "Lagaan," it was reported that Aamir Khan may be reuniting with director Ashutosh Gowariker for another movie.

Pinkvilla reported that the two are working together on a movie based on the life of legendary Indian cricket player, Lala Amarnath.

Said a source, "The team is aggressively working on this story for a while now and the final draft also has creative inputs from the maverick duo Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. It's an emotional, inspiring sports drama set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak partition in 1947."

It was also reported that the producers' goal is set to begin production by the end of the year, with shooting to start in September.

"Extensive prep work is already underway, and apart from Aamir Khan, another leading actor is expected to come on board to play the parallel lead, the role of Lala Amarnath's closest friend," the source added.

If everything comes to fruition, this will be the second cricket-themed movie from the two parties after the 2001 movie.
