10 Apr - Amid fans' wish to see Adria Arjona playing Wonder Woman in the future, it was revealed that the actress is currently one of the four actresses being considered for the role of Maxima in the second Superman movie.

It was reported that the actress, who has worked with James Gunn on the movie "The Belko Experiment", will be competing with Eva De Dominici, Sydney Chandler and Grace Van Patten for the role, and will be tested this week in Atlanta.

The character Maxima, who first appeared in the September 1989 issue of "Action Comics," was created by writer Roger Stern and artist George Perez.

Alien conqueror and love interest to Superman, the Almeracian queen is described as morally ambiguous and obsessed with making Superman her king. In later issues, she reformed herself to be a member of the Justice League. Her abilities include super strength, durability and matter transmutation.

The upcoming "Superman" sequel sees the return of David Corenswet and Lex Luthor as Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, respectively, and will see the two characters working together to take on Brainiac (Lars Eidinger).

DC Studios has declined to comment on the screen test.
