14 Sep - It is a hug that unites all Tamil movie lovers, as former movie rivals and industry pals Ajith Kumar and the now Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay gave each other an embrace at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in England.

Following an earlier announcement by the organiser that the CM would be waving the green flag at Silverstone, several videos and photos of the two circulated online, showing Vijay approaching Ajith, already in his racing gear, and giving him a big hug with a smile on his face.

Ajith is competing in the Silverstone round as a representative of his racing team, racing in the LMP3 Pro/Am category for Ajith RedAnt by Virage alongside French driver Romain Vozniak.

Speaking about Vijay's appearance, Ajith expressed, "C Joseph is taking time off his busy schedule to come and visit us at Silverstone. We've been colleagues in the film industry for the last 34 years, and I'm very happy for him that he is now the Chief Minister-elect."

As to whether Chennai will one day host a similar event, following Vijay's recent development roadmap for Chennai, Ajith said, "They have been doing a lot to promote sports from every discipline, not just motorsport. They're looking at motorsport as well. I'm glad he accepted the invitation to come and look at what are the logistic-wise, infrastructure-wise, it would take for India, Chennai to host events like the Le Mans series in India."

"And my wish is to see these events come to India and all of us race in India," he added.
