11 Mar - Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return as Conan the Barbarian in the upcoming film, "King Conan".

As reported on THR, the actor, who has played the role in the 1982 fantasy film of the same name and its 1984 sequel, "Conan the Destroyer," will be working with "Mission: Impossible" director Christopher McQuarrie, who is also penning the script.

Schwarzenegger announced McQuarrie's involvement in the project over the weekend at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, telling fans, "It's a great story where Conan was [a king for 40 years] and he gets complacent, and now he gets forced out of the kingdom, slowly. Then there's conflict, of course, and then he somehow comes back, and then there's all kinds of madness and violence and magic and creatures."

"Now, of course, you have all the special effects, and the studio system has plenty of money to make those movies really big. So, I'm looking forward to all of those projects," he said.

The original movie, which is based on Robert E. Howard's "Conan", tells the story of a barbarian named Conan (Schwarzenegger) who seeks to avenge his parents' deaths at the hands of Thulsa Doom, the leader of a snake cult.
