9 Jul - Kane Parsons' "Backrooms" continues to make bank after it was announced as the highest-grossing A24 film of all time.

The movie has now crossed USD 350 million globally after more than a month in theatres, making Parsons the youngest director to achieve the feat at the age of 21.

It is also now the highest-grossing A24 movie in many countries including China and France.

Based on the viral creepypasta story, the movie tells the story of Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a furniture store owner who, along with his therapist Mary (Renate Reinsve), discover a dimension of seemingly endless liminal spaces accessed through the store's basement.

The movie was made with only USD 10 million in budget by Parsons, a YouTuber who had been releasing web series inspired by the title since 2022.
