Deepika shuts down "Brahmastra 2" casting rumours

26 Aug - Following recent rumours, Deepika Padukone has finally dismissed the notion that she is going to be a part of "Brahmastra: Part Two".

The actress addressed the reports via her spokesperson, who told the media, "All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue."

It was previously reported that Deepika would play the role of Amrita, Shiva's mother and a powerful Astra wielder, in the sequel, after having made a cameo in part one of the movie.

The sequel to the 2022 film, which starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, is set to begin shooting next year. Alia Bhatt is also set to return as Isha.

Deepika is currently pregnant with her second child.
