3 Mar - A week after his passing, Eric Dane's cause of death was finally revealed to the public.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the actor died from respiratory failure, with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, listed as an underlying cause of death.

Dane, most known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan in the medical drama, "Grey's Anatomy," was revealed to have passed away on 19 March.

His family stated, "He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, Rebecca, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always."
