13 Jul - Fans have been waiting patiently, and impatiently. And it looks like "Jana Nayagan" may finally be released soon, as it was revealed that the movie has finally been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

On 11 July, the former actor turned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay posted the good news on his actor social media account with a poster revealing that the movie has received A certification. This means that the film is restricted to adult audiences only - viewers must be 18 years or older to watch it in theatres.

KVN Productions also posted, "See you soon in theatres nanba & nanbis."

No news as to the actual new date for the release at the time being.

Previously, it was rumoured that the movie may be released in late July or early August. The film was originally slated for Pongal 2026 release as Vijay's swansong before his move into politics, but was delayed indefinitely due to issues with the CBFC. The former actor is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
