12 Mar - It has now been confirmed that Kathryn Hahn will be playing the role of Mother Gothel in the upcoming live-action "Tangled" from Disney.

The actress confirmed the casting in a recent Instagram video, in which she addressed her followers and said, "Hey, OOTD. Just found out what it stands for. So, here's my outfit of the day."

She then took a few steps back to show off her own OOTD, which she described as a "simple jeans, glasses, t-shirt". The t-shirt in question, however, is printed with the images of the "Tangled" villainess and a huge font that read MOTHER Gothel.

Reports of her being in talks for the role came out in January. Prior to Hahn, it was reported that Scarlett Johansson had been circling the role, but backed away to focus on her upcoming projects that include "The Exorcist" reboot.

The upcoming film, which is adapted from the Disney 2010 animated movie about the tale of Rapunzel, will be helmed by "The Greatest Showman" director, Michael Gracey.
