26 Aug - The King in the North is now Hogwarts' Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, as it was announced that Kit Harington will replace Nicholas Hoult in the role of Gilderoy Lockhart for the upcoming HBO "Harry Potter" series.

The British actor is no stranger to the Harry Potter world, having voiced Lockhart in Audible's Harry Potter audiobook last year. He came into the picture after Hoult, who was originally cast for the second season, opted out due to scheduling conflicts.

Lockhart appeared in the second book, "The Chamber of Secrets," and is described as a famous but arrogant wizard known for his many heroic acts, though one who also holds a secret.

Speaking about his previous audio role last year, the "Game of Thrones" star stated, "As far as cameos in a series go, you don't get much more entertaining and fun to do as an actor than Gilderoy Lockhart. It was a no-brainer."

The second season will begin shooting this fall.
