Veteran producer-director K Rajan passes away at 85
18 May - Tamil producer-director K Rajan was revealed to have died by suicide.

According to sources, the Chennai Fire and Rescue recovered his body after he allegedly jumped from the Adyar bridge into the river on 17 May.

Investigation is currently in progress.

It was reported that Rajan was in a car shortly before the incident occurred and that he had supposedly been staying at a private hotel rather than with his family prior to the incident.

Rajan began his career in 1983 by producing the movie "Brahmacharikal" and went on to produce several other projects. He also directed films like the Sriman-starrer "Unarchigal" and "Namma Ooru Mariamma".

He also worked as an actor in several films, with the latest being the 2023 movie, "Bakasuran" starring Selvaraghavan.

He was 85.
