Lokesh Kanagaraj confirms "Kaithi 2" Coming

Dilli returns for "Kaithi 2"

28 Jan - Lokesh Kanagaraj recently assured that "Kaithi 2" is coming, more than six years after the first film.

The filmmaker, who addressed several rumours recently, dismissed the notion that the film was delayed due to him asking for an increase in remuneration, and that he will get back to it after he concludes working on Allu Arjun's next film.

"Karthi sir and his team did not know when I would come back to his film, hence he gave the slot kept for Kaithi 2 for another project. This is what actually happened. It was during the time I wanted to complete the commitment I had with Mythri Movie Makers. They gave me an advance amount six years ago," he said.

"I approached Allu Arjun for the same. I have been wanting to work with him for three to four years. All this came together at the right time."

Lokesh is helming Allu Arjun's new movie

Lokesh said that the market and the producer determine his salary no matter his demand.

"I have met all stakeholders regarding this film and I will take up Kaithi 2 as my next project," he said.

"Kaithi," starring Karthi, was one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2019. It was also remade into a Malaysian movie called "Banduan".
