Mammootty celebrates Best Actor National Award win

Mammootty won for the period folk horror "Bramayugam"

21 Jul - Mammootty recently expressed his happiness over his National Awards win, but did not forget to congratulate his fellow recipients as well in his social media post about the happy news.

On 19 July, the Malayalam star posted a photo of himself as his character Kodumon Potty in 'Bramayugam,' for which he won Best Actor in a Leading Role, and wrote, "Heartfelt congratulations to Dhanush, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, Shehnad Jalal, Rajkumar Periyasamy, Team Feminichi Fathima, Team Bhadra Kali Natakam, and all the winners of the coveted National Awards. Truly well deserved!"

"Thanks Team #Bramayugam and Rahul Sadasivan for entrusting me with Kodumon Potty," he added.

It is noted that Dhanush, whom Mammootty mentioned in the post, received the National Award for Best Regional Film for his directorial effort, "Raayan" and the National Award (Special Mention - Best Actor) for "Captain Miller".

This will be Dhanush's third National Award as an actor and first National Award as a director.

He expressed, "Winning my very first National Award as a Director for Raayan is a blessing I will cherish forever."
