"Michael" stars Jaafar Jackson as the King of Pop

25 May - "Michael" continues to moonwalk to the top, as the film has now neared the USD 800 million mark.

Over the weekend, the Michael Jackson biopic added another USD 28.5 million overseas, and has now grossed USD 468 million internationally and USD 319 million in North America.

This means that the movie needs less than USD 20 million to reach the USD 1 billion mark.

It is noted that the movie has yet to open in Japan, which meant that the biopic has the capacity to do so and to surpass the record held by "Bohemian Rhapsody" at USD 911 million.

On the other hand, new addition, "The Mandalorian and Grogu" has recently entered the chart, with its three-day opening of USD 64 million overseas, bringing a global cume of USD 165 million over four days.

However, the opening number is considered quite weak for a Star Wars movie.
