2 Apr - Milly Alcock recently revealed that she is all prepared for the backlash that will inevitably come from her portrayal of Supergirl in the upcoming DC superhero movie.

The actress, who spoke to Vanity Fair recently, shared that she has already experienced intense fandom, having been in HBO's "House of the Dragon".

Said Alcock, "It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women's bodies."

"I can't really stop them. I can only be myself," she added.

In a previous interview, the Australian actress said that she tries not to engage with online discourse about her projects as it does not benefit her mentally.

"Me seeing my face constantly is straining. No one should have to do that. It sucks, man. I don't know how the socialites of the world can do that. It's kind of driving me off the wall. It's an incredibly difficult space to navigate," she added.

"Supergirl" is set to be released on 26 June, and has Alcock playing Superman's similarly-famous cousin Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl.
