3 Sep - Excited about their upcoming collaboration, Mohan Raja revealed that his next film, which will star Karthi, will be a mix of his two past films.

The filmmaker, who attended the trailer launch event for Karthi's "Sardar 2," told the media that their upcoming untitled film will be a combination of his 2004 sports drama, "M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi" and his 2015 action thriller, "Thani Oruvan".

"Shooting begins in December 2026 or January 2027. I'm very happy that I'm doing a Tamil film after a long gap. I can't ask for more. Thanks to Karthi brother," he said.

It was back in August that Mohan Raja announced his collaboration with Karthi, writing online, "Now, my 11th directorial in the 25th year of my career becomes even more special - as I join hands with my dear brother, [Karthi]. I have no words to thank you all for always standing by me. Please bless me in this journey too."

In related news, "Sardar 2," the sequel to PS Mithran's 2022 action thriller, sees Karthi reprising his dual roles as the father-son duo Vijay Prakash and Chandra Bose, while SJ Suryah appears as the primary antagonist, Black Dagger.
