Rebecca Gayheart in gratitude for support after Eric Dane's passing

Eric Dane, known for "Grey's Anatomy," died at 53 from ALS

24 Feb - Rebecca Gayheart recently expressed her gratitude to everybody who shared their condolences over the passing of former husband Eric Dane.

The actress shared her thanks via Instagram Story, writing, "I am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our community. There aren't words to express our gratitude."

"You are truly holding us up during this difficult time," she added.

Dane, most known for his performance as Dr. Mark Sloan on the ABC medical drama, "Grey's Anatomy," passed away on 19 February, nearly a year after revealing his struggle with ALS.

His family posted, "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS. He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."

Dane and Gayheart tied the knot in 2004. The two had two daughters together.

He was 53.
