19 Jun - Ryan Gosling has been announced as this year's American Cinematheque Award honouree.

The news was announced by the American Cinematheque board chair Rick Nicita, stating, "Ryan represents everything this honour stands for - an artiste of extraordinary range, depth and fearless creative commitment."

"From his early work in 'The Believer' and 'Half Nelson,' for which he earned an Academy Award nomination, to his breathtaking performances in 'Drive,' 'Blue Valentine,' 'La La Land,' and his revelatory, scene-stealing turn in 'Barbie,' Ryan has demonstrated a remarkable ability to inhabit characters with intelligence, vulnerability, and undeniable charisma."

The annual American Cinematheque Awards gala will be held on 2 November at the Beverly Hilton.
