20 Jul - Several days after the news of Sam Neill's passing, his agent finally decided to share the cause of his death.

In a statement released to the media, Philip Grenz expressed disappointment over rumours and misinformation that had been circulating in the media, which he said contain inaccuracies and outright falsehoods.

"As Sam Neill's longtime rep, I spoke with his family and wish to clarify some details for his fans. Sam passed away from pneumonia. Prior to becoming sick, Sam had valiantly fought and beaten lymphoma through a new treatment called CAR-T therapy," his statement said.

Grenz also revealed that Neill had already filmed four projects back-to-back prior to his passing, and that the movies will be released in coming months. These include the movie, "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova," which has a 2027 release date.

"As Sam was an intensely private man who loathed a fuss, his family will honour him with a private family memorial at his farm in New Zealand at a still-undetermined later date," Grenz added.
