"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" knocks out "Avengers: Endgame" in North America

27 Aug - "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" continues to soar at the box office, as it has now surpassed "Avengers: Endgame" in the list of the highest-grossing films in North America.

The movie, which is now in its fourth weekend, has made USD 858.4 million, besting the 2019 Marvel entry and knocking it out of second place. It is also the fastest movie to hit USD 800 million, after doing so in just 19 days.

However, it has yet to beat the reigning champion, "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens," which made USD 936.6 million in North America back in 2015.

As of now, the Tom Holland-starrer is number five in the list of the highest-grossing films of all time, after bringing a global total of USD 2.22 billion, surpassing "Ne Zha 2".

It also has the possibility of making it to number four and besting the former highest-grossing film of all time, "Titanic," which made USD 2.257 billion in 1997.

It is noted that the current highest-grossing film of all time is still James Cameron's "Avatar" at USD 2.9 billion.
