3 Jul - Tom Hanks' upcoming baseball film is set to be released in July next year.

On 1 July, Sony Pictures announced that it is set to release the movie, "The Comebacker" on 30 July 2027, which adapts Dave Eggers' 2024 short story of the same name.

The movie stars Hanks as a pitching coach who finds his life changing dramatically after getting hit in the head with a ball.

This will be Hanks' second baseball movie, following the hit 1992 movie, "A League of Their Own," co-starring Geena Davis, Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell.

Hanks was last seen in the 2025 movie, "The Phoenician Scheme" and reprised his voice role as Woody in "Toy Story 5," which is currently screening in cinemas.
