6 Jan - Talking about being overzealous: Some of Vijay's extremely loyal fans have decided to tear down the posters of Sivakarthikeyan's new movie, "Parasakthi".

The reason? Because the movie is competing with "Jana Nayagan" for Pongal release!

A video has gone viral, showing some men tearing down "Parasakthi" posters outside a movie theatre in Madurai. The clip had since brought criticisms against these fans from others, who called them obsessed and "barbaric".

Some Vijay's fans, on the other hand, believed that it was an attempt by Vijay haters to malign the actor's image as he is entering fully into politics.

Meanwhile, others found it to be funny, with one netizen writing, "This is normal teasing. If Ajith fans were there, the whole incident would have been different."

Said the actor, he actually tried to postpone the film's release date and that his team had discussed it with Vijay. However, they then decided to release it in the same period.

"He told me that Vijay believes that since it's Pongal, both films have enough space to release and will not affect each other at the box office. He also conveyed his best wishes for Parasakthi," said Sivakarthikeyan.
