Good Bye Lenin!

In 1989, when Alex gets arrested for participating in an anti-government rally in East Germany, his mother, a loyal member of the Socialist Unity Party, suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma. When she awakes, doctor advises against causing any excitement that might trigger a fatal heart attack. Alex now goes to great length to cover the fact that the Berlin Wall has fallen and capitalism has won. For his mother`s sake, he pretends that communism still rules Berlin.
