Watch this if you liked: "Saw" series

What is Halloween without a "Saw" film, eh? Since 2004, the celebration of ghastly ghouls are revamped by this product by producer Hoffman (may he rest in peace) as an annual Halloween movie. "Saw VI", the sixth installment of the "Saw" series is a conclusion of the second trilogy focusing on the death of the Jigsaw Killer and his successor.

May I warn you that if you have never watched the second trilogy (which started with "Saw IV") yet thought about skipping all the other films and go straight to this one, chances are, you might be confused and may have more creases on your forehead than an old curtain in grandma's attic. But do not worry. With a little help from instantaneous intelligence, flashbacks and guessing games, by the 30th minute you might get the whole idea.

The concept of "Saw VI" is no different from its predecessors. Retribution and vigilante justice are still its core, and sadistic torture is still the name of the game. It started off with a survival game between two American money-lenders, and went straight to the main plot that interweaves between the continuing story of the investigation concerning Jigsaw's death and the ongoing murder, and a new victim - an executive of a health insurance company.

The plot is well-thought, the overall pacing is satisfactory, and although Costas Mandylor sometimes look like he's evolving into Sylvester Stallone - pout and all, the overall performance by the actors are agreeable. And although it might have lost its original splendour, it is still a film for the lunatics. And that means you. Don't we all love a little bit of hydrofluoric acid and a lot of death?
