Watch this if you liked: "Sivaji The Boss", "Anniyan"

The same team that gave us super hit film "Sivaji - The Boss" once again manages to give us an (in)credible Tamil sci-fi film. With worldwide promotions that ran into millions (for example the dazzling audio release in Putrajaya Kuala Lumpur) and also being the most expensive film ever made in Asia, the expectations had been set high for "Endhiran" a.k.a "Enthiran", "Robot" or "Robo".

Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajnikanth), who has successfully creates Chitty (also played by Rajnikanth), the humanoid. His lifetime dream is to register his robots for the use of the Indian army. Chitty is introduced to the good doctor's girlfriend Sana (Aishwarya Rai) and to his family members to learn a thing or two about everyday social behaviour. After some unfortunate events, Dr. Vaseegaran decides to introduce human emotion to Chitty's system. Chitty gets transformed and starts falling in love with Sana! As Chitty begins to lean towards the dark side, what follows next is a series of high-octane swashbuckling filled with explosive stunts and some pretty expensive CGI special effects.

In almost every frame we see Rajnikanth and he does a fine job with the robot mannerisms. Whether as the workaholic scientist, the respectful Chitty or the destructive Chitty, he scores a perfect ten. The effort he has put into this film is shown in all fighting and dancing sequences. Aishwarya Rai has a dazzling screen presence and dances well too, however Danny Denzongpa's villain role is rather short and unimpressive.

The first half is a soft and fun ride, with the good Chitty taking centre stage and a couple of fight scenes the set the tone for fans to go bathe in their excitement. The second half sees the dark side of Chitty and the CGI work that goes into this is why everyone has been talking about "Endhiran". Locations for songs are exotic and A.R. Rahman's music score is top notch with rich tracks like "Kilimajaro" and "Arima Arima".

Director Shankar's creativity and ability to write commercial Tamil film elements into a sci-fi script is praiseworthy. On whole you can sit back, relax and experience the adventure that is "Endhiran".
